We’ve been talking to Dreamworks artist Marcos Mateu-Mestre through the Scad Concept Art Club here at SCAD Savannah. One of the questions we asked him was who his artistic influences are. He replied with this list:

it is always the journey which fascinates me the most. of course, the destination, or the goal, or the reward, is also exciting to get but one said that if you can’t enjoy the journey, you have the wrong destination.
this is the last weekend before my final. i’m kinda behind in almost everything. bad? maybe. BUT, i chose my battle and i won something else instead of my grades. it is not that i think school is NOT important. i will punch anybody in his/her face who accuses me of neglecting my schoolwork because it is not true. i have been waiting for 10 years before i can go to an actual art school, to be in a program that i really want to be in.
this quarter has taught me how to juggle between my responsibilities of being a grad student AND being a professional. i have a few more days to fight and i will not give in so fast.
i posted two sketches i managed to pull in half an hour as a part of my studio contract this quarter and i will ink them a bit later as a warm up inking session. my wrist is dying but i have to get things done.
